Robert Baroz

Widening an Open Eye

Baroz explores the intersection of memory and invisible forces that transform absence into presence through the visual representation of phenomena and a father-son relationship. By examining photography’s capability to reveal within the frame, the project investigates how intangible forces—such as magnetism and the loss of familial connections—manifest in physical forms, evoking a deeper understanding of memory and legacy. Utilizing magnetism as a metaphor, the work reflects on how bonds that should attract can also repel, as seen in the fractured relationship between Baroz’s father and grandfather.
